Mabel Melancon

Mabel Therese Dufresne Melancon, 80, a native of Wallace, Louisiana and a resident of Houma, Louisiana died October 9, 2009. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will bew held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park. She is survived by her former husband, Allen J. Melancon of Houma; son, Stephen J. Melancon of Houma; daughters, Jeanne M. Rhodes and husband Benny of Houma Denise M. Benoit and husband Peter of Houma and Charlotte LeBoeuf of Houma; brother,Alvin Dufresne of Wallace, Louisiana; sister, Ruth Waguespack and husband Don of Metairie and grandchildren, Jeffrey LeBoeuf, Jenna Rhodes and Matthew Rhodes. She is preceded in death by, sons, Michael Melancon and David Melancon; brothers, Russell Dufresne and Percy Dufresne;sisters, Bessie Schexnayder and Joyce Duresne and parents, Louise LeBoeuf Dufresne and Ben Dufresne. She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
