Elwood “Wookie” Flattmann, Sr., 77,
a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Gray, Louisiana, on September 26, 2009.
Visitation will be on
Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at
First Baptist Church of Houma.
A Memorial Service will be held onThursday, October 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Houma.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Farrar Flattmann of Gray, LA; sons, Elwood Flattmann, Jr., and wife Julie of Gretna, LA
James Flattmann of Covington;
stepsons, Bradley Chatagnier and wife Kendra of Houma, LA;
daughters, Sheri Plaisance and husband Keith of LaComb, MS;
stepdaughters, Teri Chatagnier-Cavalier of Gray, LA
Deidi Rodrigue and husband Mitch of Petal, MS;
step-daughter-in-law, Fran Chatagnier of Houma, LA
brother, Gustave Flatt;mann Jr., of New Orleans, LA;
sister, Rita Budge of Gretna, LA
Mildred Hinyup of Gretna, LA;
Maureen Provenzano of Mandeville, LA; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by,
parents, Gustave Flattmann, Sr., and Mildred Silver Flattmann;
first wife, Geraldine Cousins Flattmann;
step-son, David Chatagnier;
brother, Henry Flattmann, Sr.;
sister, Mae Younger;
great-grandchild, James Flattmann III.
He was Catholic and attended the First Baptist Church of Houma.
He was a retired P.M.T. with Sears after 23 years; He was a retired bus driver with Orleans Parish School board after 37 years. He was also the owner of Wookie’s Lawnmower Repair.
