Charles Joseph Burnett, 79, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died
Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 1:15 PM.
Visitation wil be on
Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:30 a.m.
at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in Bayou Black Cemetery.
He is survived by his,
son, Bart Stephens Burnett and wife Elaine Burnett of Tennessee;
daughter, Jody Lynn Burnett Lejeuene of Houma; and
companion of 26 years, Lou Foret of Houma; grandchildren, Shelly H. Hebert, Jr., Beau P. Hebert, Kaci R. Bourg and great-grandchildren,
Bronson Hebert, Kane Hebert, Anthony King; brothers, Donald J. Burnett and wife Reba of Bayou Black, Huey Burnett of Houston, Lou Gehrig Burnett of Shreveport, Glenn D. Burnett and wife Liz of Houma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sigur H. Burnett and Sadie Giroir Burnett;
brothers, Jewett "Jack" Burnett, Carl "Jay" Burnett;
wife, Betty Jo Hebert Burnett.
He worked at United Gas Pipeline for 20 years and Owner of Eastside Bowl for 15 years and then retired.
He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and sports. He use to coach Babe Ruth baseball. He was in the Hall of Fame for bowling. He played softball for Texaco and other various teams.
