Joseph Hebert

February 20, 1943 — March 19, 2017

Junior, age 74, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Gray, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 10 AM until funeral time in the Dauphine Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home with a Service at 12 PM. Junior is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rita Pitre Hebert; sons, Joseph Henry Hebert, Jr., step-sons, Aubrey Aucoin, Norris Foret, Harold Foret, JR, and Jason Billiot, David Aucoin; daughters, Mary Jane Ledet, step-daughters, Dawn Foret, Leslie LeBoeuf, Sandra Martin, Sarah Manning, Marlene Ford; Tammy Billiot; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Jenny Malbrough Hebert; brother, Jack Hebert; step-daughters, Christine Aucoin and Jennifer Aucoin. Junior was one of a kind. He was very outspoken, outgoing, loved to dance, fishing, gardening. Junior was also very talented, he had a natural ability for woodworking. He build birdhouses, wood airplanes and wishing wells. He leaves behind all his work including his fruit trees, rose bushes, Virgin Mary plants and more. He worked for Tommy’s Cab over twenty years of public service. Above all, Junior loved his family and will be dearly missed. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hebert family.
