Della, age 95, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She is a native of Raceland and a resident of Houma; Della is now sleeping peacefully awaiting God’s promise of a resurrection according to ACTS 24:15. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bourg, Louisiana, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery, Bourg, Louisiana. Della is survived by her son, Kenneth, and wife Sherry Blanchard; daughter, Judith and husband Earl Hicks; brother, Andrew Arcement; sisters, Doris Daigneault, Sarah LeJendre; grandchildren, Richard (Wyann) Leckelt, Mitchell (Laura) Leckelt, Catherine Castillo, Scott (Beth) Leckelt; grandchildren, Kenneth (Jennifer) Blanchard, Rebecca (Timothy) Bernard, Timothy (Tanzie) Blanchard; step-grandchild, Kellie (Emmet) Gaudet; great-grandchildren, Krystle Leckelt, Lindsay Davis, Alicia Brand, Clay Street Jr., Carlie Castillo, Caroline Blanchard, Benjamin Blanchard, Bethany Washburne, Lauren, Brett, Mathew Bernard, Darrien and Valerie Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Mason, Eli, Clay III, Rhonnie, Ryleigh, host of nieces and nephews, and friends at Heritage Manor. Della is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Linus J. Blanchard; parents, Furcy and Sarah Arcement; brothers, Murray, Morgan, and Howard Arcement; sisters, Clara Pasqua, Bella Pitre. Della, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Della was a faithful believer and a servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On her pastime, she enjoyed reading, working in her yard, and appreciating God’s creation and watching the birds in her yard. Della was known for her delicious Blackberry Jelly, Apple Dumplings, and Pecan Pralines.
