Lorena Henry LeBlanc, 85, a native of Dulac, LA and a resident of Chauvin LA, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at 1:10 AM.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. until service time St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
She is survived by her
sons, Wayne and wife, Debbie of Benson, N.C. and Brian and wife, Kathy of Chauvin, LA;
brother, Eloi Henry of Bourg and Juanita Henry, her sister-in-law.
She is preceded in death by
Her beloved husband of 49 years, Morris Leblanc;
parents, Alcide Camille Henry, Sr., and Enola Domangue Henry;
brothers, Albert and Alcide Henry, Jr.;
sister, Alexsana Henry Moliason;
Foster parents: Lezin and Doresia Thibodeaux Trosclair;
foster brothers, Percy, Nolan, Lucious, Calvin, Kerwin and Chester;
foster sisters, Effie T. Fryou, Libby T. Collins, Nora T. Christy, Lucille T. Ball and Margie T. Carrere.
She is Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church
She was a member of the American Legion Post 380;
VFW 9608 Ladies Auxiliary; St. Joseph's Ladies Altar Society, served as secretary; Catholic Daughters of America; Court Pere Denece', serving as secretary for three years; Ward Seven Citizens Club; St. Joseph's choir;
Chauvin Senior Corporate Club, served as treasurer and secretary. She also was a religion teacher for several years.
During the war, she worked in a defense plant in New Orleans. She alwo worked as a librarian in Chauvin and as a receiptionist for Dr. John and Anna Plauche.
