Bonnie - Jane Marie Melancon, 57, a native and resident of Houma, LA died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 5:05 PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 9:00 AM until Service Time St. Louis Catholic Church. Nass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Louis Catholic Church with burial in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Freddie Joseph Melancon, Jr; parents, Jackson Chaisson, Sr and Loretta Marcel Chaisson; mother in law, Ethel Sharp; daughters, Christy Melancon Pitre and husband Charlie Pitre of Houma, LA; Melanie Melancon Thornton and husband Jeffrey Thornton of Washington, DC; Julie Melancon and Fiance' Marco Sosa of Destrehan, LA; grandchildren, Macy Taylor Pitre, Alaina Catherine Pitre, Alexa Caroline Pitre and Zachary Harris Thornton; brothers, Jackson Chaisson, Jr and Dennis Chaisson both of Houma, LA; and sisters, Linda Danos of Raceland, LA and Susan Ellender of Houma,LA. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Gladys Legendre Marcel Hebert and Dennis P. Marcel and Nelson Chaisson and Edna Dubois Chaisson. She was lifelong parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue, LA. She lived her life with grace and courage. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
