Phyllis Ann Roemers Hutchinson, 66, died March 5, 2017 at 7:57 AM. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 9 AM until 11 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home in the Cypress Room. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery, Houma, LA. She is survived by her daughters, Candice H. Phipps and husband, Glenn Scott, Virginia A. Hutchinson and fiancé, Chet Peters, and Kate H. Passow and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Logan Phipps, Lesleigh Hutchinson, Emmalee Phipps, Layla Passow, Lee Coulon, IV and Hayden Phipps; sisters, Martha Murray and Sandra Readhimer and their families. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ken Hutchinson; parents, Philip Henry Jr. and Vera Ann Brashear Roemers; grandparents, Philip Henry Sr. and Cummie Roemers, and Richard and Effie Brashear. Phyllis was a 1969 graduate of Riverdale High School in New Orleans. She actively helped run Bayou Finance of Houma with her husband Kenneth for over 20 years until his death in 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hutchinson Family.
