Ray Joseph Pitre Sr., 88, passed away at 4:45AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM and at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Monday February 6, 2017 from 9:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Philip Pitre, Ray J. (Charlotte) Pitre, Jr., Stephen (Wanda) Pitre, Jerry (Gwen) Pitre; daughters, Debbie (Mark) Daigle, Robbie (Ray) Belanger, Lisa (Roland “Flash”) Smith, and Dody (Timothy) Brown; daughter-in-law, Vanessa LeBouef Pitre; brother, Floyd (Carmen) Pitre; grandchildren, Danielle “Dee”, Danny Ray (Joni), Dustin (Mandy), Jason “JJ” (Krista) Pitre, Jake (Tiffany), Jason (Kylie) Belanger, Roland (Devon), Ryan (Lacy) Smith, Dena (Kenneth) White and Tyler (Brooke) Daigle; great grandchildren, Meagan, Jenna Rae, Alexis, Kyla, Amberly, Kynzie and Karleigh Pitre, Tayler, Jayce, Seth, Owen, Alex Belanger, Kamden White, Emma Grace Daigle, Braydon Smith; and step grandchildren, Walton “Bado” Boudreaux III, William Boudreaux, Shelby Brown;
He is preceded by his wife, Dorina Ledet Pitre; parents, James and Josephine Leonard Pitre, Sr., sons, Leonard Raymond “Lenny” Pitre, and David Lee Pitre; brothers, James “Jimmy” Jr., and Arnold “AJ”, Gerald, Raymond, Roy and Gayden Pitre; sisters, Hilda Pitre, Geraldine Pitre Ledet, and Mildred Pitre Marie.
Ray was an avid fisherman and trawler at his camp. He was a retired employee of J. Ray Mcdermott after thirty-seven years of dedicated service. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Russell Henry and staff, Hospice of South Louisiana nurses Christine, Paul, Angie, Jill, Debbie and Aide Joelle.
