Raymond "Red" Lindsey

January 17, 1937 — January 26, 2017

Red passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 26, 2017. Red was a lifelong resident of Houma, he now rests in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 2, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Rogers cemetery. Red was married to June Hebert Lindsey for 58 beautiful years, they have five children; Raymond P. Lindsey, Kathryn Bunn, Wayne Lindsey, Wilma Lindsey, Mary Bourg and husband Roy. Red was a proud paw-paw and enjoyed his grandchildren, Kimberly Rae Trahan, Blaine Cotton, Lucas Paul Lindsey, Alana Lindsey, Bobby Higgins II, Jennifer Lyn Trahan, Ryan, Bret and Jordan Bourg; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Trevor Detiveaux, Daylon and Sofia Higgins, Aaliyah and Jai Lobos, Carter and Vivian Bourg; Red is also survived by his siblings, Johnnie Mae Worthy, William “Bill” Lindsey, and Thurl Lindsey. Red now resides in Heaven with his parents, Arthur and Annie Hutchinson Lindsey; siblings, Milton Lindsey and Floys White; grandson, Raymond Michael Bourg. Red, a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He worked offshore as an experienced crane operator for most of his life, Red never missed a day of work. He was a hard worker setting examples for his family. Red loved visiting his family in Arkansas especially looking forward to family reunions and on his past-time he loved playing video poker. He also loved to have a good time and enjoy life but most of all he was a Christian man and a prayer warrior. His faith in God and love for Jesus Christ set examples to many. AMEN! He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Lindsey family.
