Joyce Bienvenu

Joyce went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the lovely age of 91. She was a longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at from the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, December 23, 2016 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. Joyce is survived by her children, Don Paul Bienvenu, Marie Bienvenu Istre and husband George, Lynn Anthony Bienvenu, Charles Joseph Bienvenu and wife Melanie Brunet; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Devince Joseph Bienvenu; sister, Mae Kelly; parents, Gustus and Mary Ann Scott Hebert. Joyce was married to the late Devince Bienvenu; they began their journey and started a beautiful family on February 16, 1949. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Granny B”. Joyce loved being home with her family, cooking Sunday dinner, gardening, and decorating; Joyce looked forward to the holidays, especially Christmas and Mardi Gras. The family would like to thank Liela Segur and Gladys Meyers for their dedication and thoughtfulness. She was blessed to have caring neighbors.
