Norman J. Cenac, Jr.

Norman J (T-NU, Storman Norman, Simonize) Cenac, aged 78 years, a native and resident of Houma, passed away Monday December 5,2016 at 2:58 PM. Visitation will be on Friday December 9,2016 from 5 PM until 9 PM in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home.  Visitation will resume at First United Methodist Church on Saturday December 10,2016 from 9 AM until Service time.  Service will be at 11 AM with interment to follow in St. Francis DeSales Cemetery II. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rebecca Lord Cenac; son, Ryan and wife Tammy Stevens Cenac of Groves, Texas; daughters, LaTina Cenac Page and late husband Clayton Page, and Cheri Cenac Ortiz and husband Ted of Houma.;brothers,Ronald and wife Pat and Kenneth and wife Larke Cenac both of Houma; brohter-in-law, Glynn Bonvillain; sisters, Eva Malbrough and husband Donald and Melanie Bourg and husband Byron; grandchildren, Ross Carlos and wife Heidi W. Carlos, Jenna Page Giles and husband Ryan, Jordan Page, Dillon Carlos and wife Shelby Kendrick Carlos, Brody Cenac, Teddy Ortiz and Jade Voisin and  great-grandchildren,Evan Giles, Brittany and Brock Chaisson. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman Sr. and Melazie Klingman Cenac; sister, Lucille Cenac Bonvillain; and sons-in-law,Clayton Page and Dana Carlos. Mr. Norman worked in the oilfield industry for Halliburton and B.J. Services.  He was a member of the National Gurad, Army Reserve and parishoner of First United Methodist Church.Our daddy’s favorite thing in life was amassing family gatherings with plentiful home cooked meals with his signature touch. Delicious specialties such as gumbo, boiled seafood, crab stew, and redfish coubion were a mainstay in the Cenac household. If you happen to pass by during the day, you would most likely see him with the “Hose Pipe” in his hand, cleaning his driveway daily. He was a God fearing man with a firm belief in, “if it can’t be fixed with duct tape, it can’t be fixed”. He was a very wise man with a wealth of experience in so many walks of life. A real man’s man, if you had and issue, he had a story. To his last breathe, he could sit with you and relive every cement job, every bridge he built, and everywhere he traveled in his lifetime. He would often humorously refer to himself as “The President” of this family and wouldn’t hesitate to put his foot down if someone was to get out of line. He was the most loving and caring, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, and Great-Grandfather you could ever have the pleasure of knowing. As a family, we will all grow closer knowing we now have the large void to fill without our “President”Rest in Peace  “Stormin’ Norman” Forever to be missed Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cenac family.
