Grover Atson Nicely – 92 – born Jan. 14, 1917 in Crewe, VA.
Mr. Nicely formerly of Chauvin, where he enjoyed playing pool each day at the senior center. He was most recently a long time resident of Terrebonne House in Houma. He moved to Louisiana from Maryland where he had worked as a plumber. He wanted to be closer to family, near his grandson, Earl Brown. In his youth he kept a boat for his weekend fishing trips.
Mr. Nicely was widowed twice, to Hazel Saffell Nicely, and Doris Miller Nicely. He had two sisters Florence and Sibby, and a brother Pete. He is survived by a grandson Pete Brown, a grand niece Melody Ogelsbee and family, and a grand nephew Gus Brown.
Mr. Nicely was in poor health recently, but maintained a sharp memory.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Terrebonne House for their excellent care and companionship. They also thank Bayou Medical Staffing for their friendship and attention. The family also thanks Journey Hospice of Houma and the staff of Chateau Terrebonne for their caring in his final days.
