Joyce Sampay Book Born 1-3-1927.in Matthews, La.,died 7-3-2009 in New Iberia, La at Iberia Medical Center after a lenghthy illness. Visitation will be on Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home from 8:00a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Services will be held at the funeral home chapel at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Resident of Gibson, LA most of her life Enjoyed bowling, and fishing and her faithful companion, her dog Tabby Preceeded in death by her husband of 54 yrs John A Book Jr of Ferriday,,LA and a grandson, Jeremy James Trahan, of Bayou Black,LA her parents Wilkin and Edna Sampay, of Gibson, LA 2 brothers, Junius Sampay of Buras, La and Roy Sampay of Gibson, LA and 1 sister Alverta Pitre of Chacahoula, LA Survived by 1 son Michael J Book and his wife Ola M Book, of Erath, La and 1 daughter Doreen B Arceneaux and her husband Jack J Arceneaux Sr of Lafayette, La 5 Grandsons Michael J Book Jr of Gibson,La, Brandon M Trahan of Houma, La, Jack J Arceneaux Jr, Christopher J Arceneaux, and Matthew R Arceneaux all from Lafayette,La 3 Granddaughters Amy B McNeely of Hickory, NC , Cyndi Guidry of New Iberia, LA and Melanie Suire of Erath, La 10 Great Grandchildren Nicholas Book, Caleb Trahan, Mason Trahan, Connely McNeely, Anna McNeely, Kameron Arceneaux. Brittney Suire, Morghan Guidry, Jadyn Guidry, Lane Guidry. and 1 sister Virginia Wade of Houma, LA Pall Bearers will be her 5 Grandsons Michael J Book Jr , Brandon M Trahan, Jack J Arceneaux Jr , Christopher J Arceneaux, Matthew R Arceneaux and her Great Grandson Nicholas Book.
