Age 53, lifelong resident of Houma, Leo passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 in the Magnolia Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery.
Leo is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kay Darcey Samanie; children, Shauntelle, Corey, Clint and wife Niki, Anjoli and husband John, Renee and husband Kyle; grandkids, Danielle, Taylor, Caleb, Devin, Macy, Carter, Maddison, Allie, Caden, Kooper, and Cohen; great-grandchildren, Kynlee, Rheese, Luke and Joseph; brothers, Paul, Jr., Carol, Jerry, Jamie, Blaine, Norman, Dwight; sisters, Sandra, Pauline and Amena; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ocianna Samanie; siblings, Aubry, Therol, E.J., Joseph and Wanda; mother and father in law, Harold and Beverly Darcey.
Leo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather but most of all a great provider to his family and a very hard worker. He enjoyed camping with his family but his greatest pleasure was fishing. Leo and his family enjoyed decorating for Halloween and trick or treating at the campground, but was most proud of his Christmas village, where family and friends would go to visit and enjoy.
