Olga was a substitute teacher for Gibson School for one year. She always referred to this time of her life as rewarding. Having a dream of becoming a teacher made this experience a priceless memory in her life. She was President of the Mother-Father Club at Gibson School.
Olga was also a member of the Gibson American Legion Auxiliary.
She began selling Stanley Products in the ‘60’s. By giving three house parties a day and recruiting 42 dealers, Olga became a unit manager in less than a year. She devoted many years to selling Stanley Home Products.
Later in life, Olga attended Beauty School in Houma where she was eager to learn everything to become a hairstylist. After receiving her license, she opened her shop at her home in Donner.
After twenty years of service to her community, Olga retired from hairstyling and closed her shop. Even thought she was no longer working at home, Olga remained very active in community projects and her committees. She was President of the Homemaker’s Club, The Ladies Fire Auxiliary, and the Donner-Gibson Parish Recreation Board.
Special thanks to Julie and Lisa.
