Edith Duplantis Eschete, 95, a native of Chacahoula, Louisiana and a resident of Houma, Louisiana, died June 18, 2009 at 10:25 p.m.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home and on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
Mass of Chrisitian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. at the church with burial at St. Francis #2 Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Wilbert "Bill" Eschete, Jr., and wife Ann of Houma; Ronald Patrick Eschete and wife Carol of Nowalk, California; daughter, Edith Mary Bourg and husband Eugene Bourg of Houma; brothers, Patrick "Pat" Duplantis, Thaddeus "Bud" Duplantis and Camille Duplantis all of Houma; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Eschete, Sr., her parents, Josephine LeBlanc Duplantis and Gilbert Duplantis; daughter-in-law, Betty Sheffield Eschete; brothers, Gable Duplantis and Luke Duplantis; sister, Lydie Harris and great-granddaughter, Eva Lynn Eschete.
She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales.
She was a homemaker.
