Loretta Picou

Loretta LeCompte Picou, 89, a native and resident of Bourg, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Picou; three children, Marilyn Pitre and husband, Jean, Carl Walker and wife, Diane, and Daniel Walker and wife, Faye; 11 grandchildren, Michael Pitre, Donna Curtis, Chris Pitre, Roger Walker, Philip Walker, Steven Walker, Samuel Walker, John Walker, Nicole Walker, Clint Walker and Cody Walker; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Bridgette Gaudet LeCompte; one sister, Janet Gaudet; three brothers, Harris, Elward and Lee LeCompte; and one granddaughter, Cary Pitre. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church, a past member of Ladies Altar Society and a member of the American Legion and VFW.
