Donna Jean Watson, 55, of Houma passed away on Monday, July 4th. She was born in Muncie, Indiana on March 4th, 1961. Donna graduated from Wahappini High School in 1979. She moved to Louisiana in the early 1980's where she met the love of her life, Michael "Mickey" Watson. They married on July 31st, 1982 and were married 34 years. There are many words to describe Donna...fun, cheerful, honest, and sincere to name a few. She had a contagious carefree personality and love for life. Donna was a free spirited biker "chick" who loved the freedom of motorcycles and enjoyed many trips doing just that. She loved to watch life at work as evidenced by her beautiful garden, love of her dogs, and unconditional love for her family and friends. In her last days she was so strong and, as always, concerned for others. She has been an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Below is a poem written by one of her dearest friends, Becky Dufrene, which perfectly describes how all her family and friends feel. Donna A thousand words could not describe you or what you've meant to me. A thousand tears that flowed so freely, could not stop what was meant to be. A thousand prayers sent pleading upward answered back, it's not His will. A thousand precious, tender memories, my broken heart holds still. A thousand songs to sing your praises from my being, in its core. A thousand ways I want to thank you for your friendship and much more. A thousand reasons I will honor you in what I say and do. A thousand lifetimes would be needed to fill the legacy that is you. Donna is preceded in death by her father Owen Jones, brother Brian Jones, paternal grandparents Herman and Eva Jones, and maternal grandparents Elisha and Mae Abbott, all of Stearns, Kentucky She is survived by her devoted husband Mickey Watson of Houma, mother Mary M. Jones, siblings Polly Jones Cox, D. Scott Jones, and Kimberly Jones Whalen, and niece Mary Renee Cox all of Stearns, Kentucky.
