Ronald “Digger” Paul Songe, 52, died Friday, June 24, 2016  at 02:55 AM. He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Gray, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, June 27, 2016 from 9:00am to service time at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his, Loving wife of twenty-two years, Alison Waguespack Songe; Parents, Henry and Doris Rogers Songe; Son, Ross DeRoche and wife Kristi Daigle DeRoche; Daughters, Tayla Mae Songe, Katelynn Theresa Songe; Sister, Roslyn Songe Savoie and husband Wyatt Savoie, Brother-in-Law, Kyle Domangue; Godchild, Jude Savoie and wife Abby and daughter Celeste; Sister-in-Law, Anita Arceneaux; Nieces and Nephews, Danielle Acreneaux, Bethany Domangue, Davis Domangue and Carson Domangue; and Great Niece, Brielle Talley. He was preceded in death by his, Brother, Roger Jude Songe; Sister-in-Law, Diana Waguespack Domangue; He was a parishioner of Saint Thomas Aquinas.  Ronald "Digger" Songe passed peacefully into his eternal rest surrounded by his family and friends. Ronald "Digger" Songe enjoyed hunting, fishing, frogging camping and cooking.  He also enjoyed to spend time with his family on vacations. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Ronald was in the oil field throughout his life and ending his career as an oil field consultant. Ronald was a fighter. He fought a three and a half year battle against cancer.  The family would like to thank  Haydel Memorial Hospice, and most especially Patty Voss, Nurse Christy, and CNA Nathaniel, Mary Bird Perkins, Dr. Doria, Dr. Khan, Dr. King, and Dr. Olson for their love and care along the way. His laugh and smile will always be remembered and remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Songe family.
