Nancy Robicheaux

August 21, 1948 — June 19, 2016

Nancy Kay Dudek Robicheaux, 67, died at her home on June 19, 2016. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Houma, a loving wife, The Nana, a 1966 graduate of Terrebonne High School, a talented art painter, a Parrothead, an avid reader, a gardener, and a lover of life.  She loved taking trips with friends and family, lunches with her girlfriends, boisterous laughter and her companions Bonnie the Beagle and Bella the Cat.  She danced into heaven unafraid and will be forever missed by those who loved her.  She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Aaron J Robicheaux; children: Rick Wiley, his wife Nicole and their children Reece, Ryan and McKenzie; Julie Steigner, her husband John and their children Lorraine and John Oliver; Chief Warrant Officer 3 Carey Wiley, his wife Gwen and their children Bailey and Jake; Casey Wiley, his children Alissa, Joshua and Sarah and his wife Sara and her children Gauge Theony and Drake Theony. Nancy's surviving siblings are Eugene Dudek, Jr. and his wife Caroline; John Dudek and his wife Tina; Marcie Melancon and her husband Steve; her sister-in-law Sandra Usey Dudek Oncale and her brother-in-law Hubert "Nick" Nicholas. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Dudek, Sr. and Julia Kappel Dudek, her brother Paul Victor Dudek, and her sister Linda Dudek Nicholas.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Francis Cathedral visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in downtown Houma.  Special thanks to Ochsner Health System; Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center doctors, nurses and staff who befriended Nancy and cared for her with love and laughter; Haydel Memorial Hospice for their gentle support in Nancy's final weeks, especially Carol Haydel; and Father Mark Toups.  Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Robicheaux family.
