Lester was a graduate of Assumption High School in 1955. He then joined the United States Navy where he would serve for the 3 and 1/4 years. In those years, he was stationed in various U.S. Navy Bases, including a stint at the Corpus Christi U.S. Naval Airbase. It is there where he met his soul mate, Fannie Earline Reid. They would later get married as soon as his he entered the U.S. Navy Reserves for another 3 years. He then was Honorably Discharged in June of 1963. They then moved to Louisiana where he eventually landed a job working for Halliburton Services that would see him through a highly distinguished career for 33 years. Lester had instilled a God given inspiration of work ethics and moral values that not only secured a devoted career but also was passed down to his children as they are just as successful as he was. Lester was a parishioner and founding member of Annunziata Catholic Church in which he was a devoted active part of numerous committees; Usher Society, Bingo/Keno, Church Fairs, etc.  Lester retired from Halliburton and he and his wife enjoyed some travel, however, his passion being home with a steady diet of cooking, fishing, and bleeding Purple & Gold of LSU Sports.  In the end years of his life, he encountered and bravely fought a great battle of Dementia that not only weakened him, but took them to Spring, Texas where his daughter, Becky and her husband Brian took both Lester and Fannie in to care in the last years of Lester’s life. Lester’s final battle took place at a care home, Berean Estates of Conroe, Texas. Lester, and his family fought this all together at Berean Estates for approximately 2 months where they treated him like he was their family.  Lester finished his battle with Dementia on June 15, 2016 in the arms of his family and care givers at Berean Estates. He then went from our arms to the wings of the Angels leading him to our heavenly Father where there are no sorrow or tears. We committed him to our Lord and live with peace of promises made by our Lord. We want to thank all care givers that assisted in Lester’s eventual heavenly reward travel, especially Berean Estates, headed Gwendolyn Robinson and her staff. This is an astounding and a God gifted facility that we were blessed to have Lester’s final journey home. Also, we would like to thank Season’s Hospice, with Nancy Tolbert as our representative. She was a God send to us. May he Rest in our Lord’s presence forever.Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Clause family.
