Merle (Pookie) Dupre, 76, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 02:00 AM in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 15,2016 from 4 PM until service time in the Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home Inc. Services will be at 6 PM. Interment will be in St. Francis De Sales Cemetery on Thursday. She is survived by her, Former Spouse: Dennis Oncale, SON: Keith Oncale of Houma, DAUGHTER: Stephanie and husband William Holden, GRANDDAUGHTER: Joni Oncale & wife Amanda LeRay, GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER: Madison Oncale and a baby girl on the way. She was preceded in death by her, HUSBAND: Elfray Dupre, SON: Dion Oncale, GRANDSON: Tyler Oncale, and PARENTS: Shelby and Floyd Belanger Lirette. Mrs. Dupre was a parishioner of Annunziata Parish. She loved painting, and being with family and friends. Especially known for her cooking and was also the proprietor of Alma's Restaurant. The family wishes to express deep gratitude and thanks to Chabert/Ochsner Hospital and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their kind and considerate service during Mrs. Dupre's illness.
