Jeanne Millet

August 18, 1935 — May 15, 2016

Jeanne Millet, a resident of Houma, LA, departed this life on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Lori Millet. Jeanne was 80 years old. Jeanne was born in Baton Rouge on August 18, 1935, the second daughter of Aline Broussard Lambert and Dave Lambert. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1949 and Saint Joseph Academy in 1953. She attended LSU then was married to Donald Millet from 1956 - 1984. Jeanne lived a full life loving her four children and extending that love to her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She lived in Louisiana and Texas, returning to Louisiana after retirement. She enjoyed many activities; participating in many ladies' organizations, volunteering at her children's schools, working on two cookbooks, and following her love of fashion as a Retail Manager. She reluctantly yielded to retirement at the age of 76. She was an excellent seamstress and fantastic cook. Her dirty rice, red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, and pot roast with rice and peas were some of her family’s favorites. We all enjoyed her unique sense of humor and have a "Jeanne" story stored deep in our hearts. She made us laugh and left each child with a part of herself. Her timeless beauty will forever glow. She will be deeply and truly missed. Jeanne is survived by her four children Donna L. Millet of New Orleans, LA, Lori A. Millet and her husband, William A. Morgan of Houma, LA, Barry J. Millet and his wife Lorri Coody of Pasadena, TX, and Cindy M. Galinsky and her husband Bobby of Houma, LA; three sisters, Patricia L. Brignac, Baton Rouge, LA, Sister Adele Lambert, CSJ, Baton Rouge, LA, and Stephanie L. Vicari, Baton Rouge, LA; nine grandchildren, Kim LaBauve, Lee Thibodeaux, Phillip Cable, Rachel Cable, Stephen Millet, Mattie Thrasher, Jake Thrasher, Gracie Lee, and Elizabeth Lee; and four great-grandchildren, Luke Anderson, Claire Anderson, and Addison Labauve and Riley Paul Thibodeaux. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Aline B. Lambert and Dave Lambert, a sister, Mary Frances Hudson, two brothers, David. Lambert and Robert “Bobby” Lambert. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Millet Family.
