Jannie Josephine Matherne, 73, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 12:31 am.She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Montegut, LA. Visitation will be held on from at Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 9:30am to service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Church She is survived by her loving husband of fifty four years, Toussaint Matherne; Daughters, Peggy Matherne, Pamela Matherne, and Paulette Matherne; Brother, Lester Neal and Sister, Shirley Matherne; Grandchildren, Casey Billiot, Joey Naquin, Nicholas Matherne, Dylan Mathenre; and Great Grandchildren, Haylie Naquin, Nevaeh Naquin, Blake Hutchinson, Cassian Naquin, and Dominick Matherne. She was preceded in death by her, Parents, James Neal and Rita Matherne Neal; She was a parishioner ofSacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked at the Terrebonne Parish School Board. She enjoyed working with arts and crafts.  She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed; but never forgotten. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Matherne family.
