Hartley John Bergeron, Sr., 70, died Monday, May 2, 2016 at 07:40 PM. He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday May 6, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. He is survived by his, Wife, Joy David Bergeron; Son, Hartley Bergeron Jr. and wife Jessica; daughters Tina Robichaux and husband Tate, Jessica Bergeron and companion Parrish Carroll; grandchildren, Justin, Chelsey, Anna, Joe, Hunter, Cade, Alesi, Finley and one on the way, Tucker; and great-grandchild on the way, Mason. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Celestine and Eleola Gautreaux Bergeron; daughter, Melissa Bergeron; brother, Michael Bergeron; sister, Aranda Samanie. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Hartley was proudly married to the love of his Life Joy "Schnook" for 49 years. He loved his family. He was the best dad and Paw Hartley in the world, but above all he dearly loved his grandkids the most. He never met a stranger, and enjoyed feeding everyone he met. He proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division in the U.S. Army. He worked for Texaco for 35 years. After retirement, he enjoyed dealing with the people of Terrebonne Parish at Lavis Conoco where every person was a friend, not just a customer. He also loved his hood family, Camille, Liz, Pat, Bubbles, Jeffro, and Rissa Roo, especially his adopted son-in-law, Troy. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
