Kent Douglas Best, 80, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at 08:35 PM. He was a native of Clarksdale, MS and resident of Houma, LA.Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from Noon until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.He is survived by his Loving wife of forty-nine years, Ouida Sandifer Best; his children, Cheryl Thompson, Christy Davies, Katherine Montroy, Curtis Gros Jr., and Carrie Bourgeois; sisters, Barbara Benson, Carolyn Henley and Sandra Boudreaux; twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his Parents, Walter Best and Vannie Ruth Best; Daughter, Kristine Portera; and brother Leon Best. He was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed poker, fantasy football and trading stock. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Best family.
