Henry was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He had a strong faith and said his rosary multiple times daily praying for those he felt were less fortunate or in need of his prayers. He served his country in the army during WWII until he was honorably discharged. He worked long hours but loved his work as a barber for 51 years. He enjoyed talking to people and when he told a story he always began with “and let me tell you how it was”. He was a loving Husband to his wife Beulah of 59 years whom he missed dearly when she passed away. He was a kind and gentle father to his children whom he always loved equally even though he was jokingly pressed on many occasions to pick his favorite. He loved to work in his vegetable garden which he would have to gradually scale back as he got older. He always had a positive attitude about life and even as he began to decline in health, he was always thankful for life’s blessings. He will be dearly missed by those that know and love him.
A special thanks to Henry’s wonderful caretakers Susie Lyons, Bobbie Williams, Pam Blank, Yvonne LeBouef and former caretakers Pauline Brunet and Tammy Martin. Also, the hospice care provided by Journey was excellent, in particular the care given by his nurse Vanessa. And finally thanks to Garth, Henry’s former physical therapist, who helped and encouraged him through some difficult times.
