Jennings Joseph Authement, 68, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:12 AM. He was a native of Houma and resident of Chauvin, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 9:00 AM until funeral time at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean Blanchard Authement; sons, Darren Authement and Billy Authement; brothers, W. Patrick Authement and wife, Barbara, and Dale Authement and wife, Diana; sister, Diana Tivet and husband, Donald John; sister-in-law, Andrea Blanchard; brother-in-law, Norman Blanchard; grandchildren, Kevin, Darren Jr., Joseph, Kade and Magnus Authement; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Joseph and Theresa Marie Dubois Authement; daughter, Jenny Authement; inlaws, Magnus and Lizzie Blanchard; brother-in-laws, Larry and Dale Blanchard; sister-in-laws, Bertha and Emily Blanchard. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired from Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government after 12 years. He enjoyed spending time and cooking with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
