Bertha Mae Blanchard, age 72, died Friday, February 26, 2016. She was a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, LA.  Visitation will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until  9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery She is survivedby her mother, Mildred Chauvin, daughters, Veronica and husband Gerald Breaux, Fredia and husband Blaine Parfait, Sr., Tammy Blanchard and former son-in-law, Timmy Boudreaux. Grandchildren, Jenna Dupre and companion Tyler Martin, Michael Breaux and fiancee Sarah Giroir, Tony, Brock, Natalia Fanguy, Bethanie, Britanie, Blaine, Jr., Bryson, Brandon Parfait, Kailyn Barnett, Brad Boudreaux, Nick and wife Sandy Boudreaux, Tiffany and husband Steve Neal Jr., sixteen great- grandchildren, brothers, Larry and wife Linda, Carroll and wife Gertie, Carl and wife Jane, Ralph and wife Robin Chauvin, sisters, Sandra and husband Mike Terrebonne and Marian Palmisano, brother-in-law, Norman Blanchard and sister –in-laws, Jean and husband Jennings Authement, Andrea Blanchard, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Chauvin, husband of fifty-five years, Larry Blanchard, father and mother-in-law, Magnus and Lizzie Blanchard, brother, Donald Chauvin, brother-in-law, Dale Blanchard, sister-in-law, Emily Blanchard, niece, Jenny Authement, nephews Randy Chauvin, Brett Palmisano. Bertha was a member of the Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana and a bingo worker for Ward 7 Citizens Club. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
