Allen Joseph Melancon, 87, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 5:18 AM . He was a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 8:30 AM until funeral time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. He is survived by his son, Stephen Melancon; daughters, Jeanne Rhodes and husband, Benny, Denise Benoit and husband, Pete, and Charlotte Day and husband, Dirk; brother, Paul Melancon, Jr. and wife, Annalee; sisters, Mildred Smith and husband, Leonard, and Dorothy Charlet; grandchildren, Jeffrey LeBoeuf and wife, Krystal, Jenna Clause and husband, Kyle, and Matthew Rhodes and wife, Katie; great-grandchildren, Sophie Frank, Madox Rhodes and Lillian Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Stanislaus Sr. and Leonie Schexnayder Melancon; former wife, Mabel Dufresne Melancon; sons, Michael Melancon and David Melancon; brother-in-law, Billy Charlet. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
