Beatrice “Bea” Porche Ledet, 87, a native and resident of Houma, died Sunday, April 19, 2009.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 to funeral time Wednesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two sons, Wilson J. Ledet Jr., of Broussard, and Richard J. Ledet, of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Barbara A. Hebert, of Houma, Bonnie “Jean” Franklin, of Houma and Tina Ledet of Houma; two sisters, Nettie Ann Porche Chauvin, of Houma and Althea Ann “Bookie” Porche Conner of South Boston, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson J. Ledet Sr.; her parents, Albert J. and Nettie B. Porche; one son, Leonard S. Ledet; four brothers, Liley J. Porche, William P. “Bill” Porche, Herbert P. Porche and Elsey J. Porche; and five sisters, Lillian Ann Porche Lirette, Leona Marie Porche Hebert, Lucy Marie Porche Dupre, Lottie Marie Porche Puge and Enola Ann Porche Thibodaux.
She was a Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
