Margaret Jacqueline Burton Monteiro 78, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 with a prayer service 4:30 p.m. and visitation will finish 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home She is survived by her husband: John DaRocha Monteiro, Sr. Sons, John D."Bucky" Monteiro, Jr., and wife Ellen Labbe; Charles B. "Boo" Monteiro; Micheal E. Monteiro and wife Karen Garelick; Daughters, Margaret J. "Sister" Monteiro, Victoria E. z"FiFi" Monteiro, Lucy E.A. Monteiro; Grandchildren, Rebecca E. Monteiro, Jacqueline M. Griffin, Anadee L. McGee, Everett J. Hoke, John D. Monteiro, III, Elliot R. Hoke, Mary G. Monteiro, Morgan M. Hoke, Lillian M. Monteiro,and Kenneth Early; Great-Grandchildren, Drew M. Modrynski, Torrie M. Modrynski, Jase M. Griffin, Jazlyn R. Griffin, Ethan Romano, Cody J. Parfait, Jr., and Brady W. Modrynski. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Richard E. Burton and Margaret Brady Burton; Brother, Richard E. Burton, Jr. She was a homemaker She was Episocopalian and a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She was a past member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians, and a past den mother for cub scouts.
