Marie Himel

Marie Louise Toups Himel, 97 years old. A native and resident of Houma passed away on December 4, 2015.Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am Monday December 7, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial in St. Francis Cemetery #1. She is survived by her daughters Carol Himel Collins (Gerald) of Houma and Catherine Himel Friloux (Winfield) of Hahnville, LA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Himel, Sr., sons Earl Himel, Jr. and Ronald Himel, her parents Noah and Eva Toups; brothers Nolan, Columbus, Joseph and Henry Toups, Sr.; Sisters Emily Chaisson, Eva Bergeron, Wilma and Annie Toups and one great granddaughter Mary Claire Melancon. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Cardinal Gibbons #177 and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council #1317. The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Terrebonne Nursing Home, Dr. Dicky Haydel and staff and the staff at Haydel Memorial Hospice.
