Stephen Benoit

Stephen Allen Benoit, 63, a native of Jennings, Louisiana and a resident of Houma died Monday, March 23, 2009 at 9:01 p.m. Vistiation will be on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Benoit is survived by his sons, John Benoit and wife Rene of Houma, Justin Benoit and wife Evelia of Algiers and Jeremy Benoit of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; his mother Ermaline Wassinger Benoit; six brothers, David Benoit of Lafayette, Richard Benoit and wife Debi of Houma, Thomas Benoit and wife Debbie of Picayune, MS and Jimmy Benoit and wife Karen, Pete Benoit and wife Denise and Joey Benoit and wife Patricia, all of Houma; two sisters, Yvonne Breaux of Theriot and Mary Benoit and companion, Kenny Westerman of Houma; two grandchildren, Madeline Grace Benoit and Sophia Evelia Benoit; his special companion, Karen Babin of Houma and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Joseph his grandparents, Fernest and Ida Benoit and Nicholas and Mary Wassinger and brother-in-law, Nelson Breaux. He was a supervisor for Exxon and an avid golfer. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. He was a parishioner of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church.
