Sadie Tregre Brien Lirette, 84, a native of Remy, Louisiana and a resident of Bayou Black, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 7:15 a.m.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at the church at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Bayou Black Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Conrad Lirette; sons, Celester "Pedro" Brien, Jr., and wife Wanda Brien; grandchildren, Shane Brien and wife Nicole of Baton Rouge, Brian Brien and wife Kristy of Dularge; great-grandchildren, Cate, Sadie and Ella Brien of Baton Rouge and Morgan Brien of Dularge; sisters, Suzanne Monaghan Porche, Ann Redmond and husband Bert Redmond, Joyce Breaux, Toonie LeCompte Daigle and husband Walter; step-daughters, Connie Casente, Alexis Hellman and Doctor Stephen Hellman, and Elizabeth "Liz" Vest; sister-in-law, Gloria Tregre; godchildren, Sandra Ledet, Clayton Breaux, Mary Susan Farrar, and Daniel Hellman; a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Celester "Brother" Brien; parents, Felicien J. Tregre and Marguerite Boudreaux Tregre; brother, Woodrow "Joe" Tregre, sister, Gladys LeBouef, Isabel Buck and Lucy Tregre.
She was a retired Vice President of Bank One, formerly Terrebonne Bank; a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians. She volunteered at Terrebonne General Medical Center. She was very devoted to her church and belonged to the bereavement committee.
