Yves Rosemary LeBlanc Rome, 81, a native and resident of Houma died Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m.. at Annunziata Catholic Church with burial following at St. Francis Cemetery #1.
She is survived by five daughters, Beth Larke and husband James, Isabelle Tabor and husband Thomas, Rebecca “Becky” Whitney and husband Michael, Aimee Leckelt and husband Keith, Angie Walsh and husband Tim; three sons, Maurice “Jerry” Rome, Philip Rome and wife Tammy, and Edward Rome and wife Connie; 16 grandchildren, Melissa Larke Lawrence, Sarah Larke, James Larke and wife Amanda, Jeffrey Larke and wife Marion, JeriAnn and Gerard Rome, Zachary, Kacie, and Joshua Rome, Rebecca and Isabelle Tabor, Anna Wheeler and Emma Whitney, and Nicholas, Christopher, and Charlotte Rome; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Alex Lawrence; one sister, Erin Landry and two brothers; Ned LeBlanc and wife Lucille, Dan LeBlanc and wife Robbie; sisters-in-law, Myrtle, Grace, and Jackie Rome and Shirley Rome Watkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Isabelle Guidry LeBlanc; her husband, Maurice Gerard Rome; one son, Stephen Matthew Rome; three sisters, Meryl Pellegrin, Yvonne LeBlanc, and Nan Fakier and one brother Abel LeBlanc,Jr. She received a degree in elementary education from Southwestern Louisiana Institute and taught school in Terrebonne and Jefferson Parishes.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and shopping. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family.
