Jimmy Atkinson, native of Gulf Port, MS and resident Houma, LA died Sunday, November 15, 2015. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 9:00am to service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.. Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery He is survived by his,  son, Shannon Atkinson and wife Jennifer, daughters, Sheila Taylor and husband John, Sandra Beattie and husband Lynn, brothers, Larry Whitten, and Homer Lee Whitten, sisters, Carolyn Mallette and Barbara Sherman, grandchildren, Christopher Authement, Brandi Woodward, Heidi Beattie, Austin Beattie, and Nathan Atkinson., great grandchildren, Olivia, Elijah, Adalean, Neala, and Tripp.   He was preceded in death by his, spouse, Roberta Mouton Atkinson, parents, Lester Atkinson and Rosalie Atkinson Whitten.  Jimmy was an avid hunter, gun collector, gun smith, gardener, wood worker and world traveler.  Jimmy loved his wife and family.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  In lieu of flowers the family request donation to be made to Alzheimers Research website at www.alz.org .
