Carroll Sigur

Carroll Joseph Sigur, age 90, died Sunday, November 8, 2015.  He was a native of Glencoe, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 9:00a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at  St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his, loving and devoted wife of 68 years Lela Chaisson Sigur, daughter, Anne Sigur Jackson Ledet and husband Robert, grandchildren, Skyla Lynn Jackson, Kelsy Anne Jackson, Caleb Paul Jackson, step-grandsons, Jacob Weeks, Patrick Ledet and Cody Ledet and step great-randson, Lucas Loupe. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Louis Fernand Sigur and Iola Lilia Marie Darcey Sigur, daughter, Denise Anne Sigur,  brothers, Irvin, Anthony and Louis Sigur , sisters, Iola Darensbourg, Helena Brown, Ethel Chapman, Stella Duplantis and Esther Sigur. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.  Carroll enjoyed growing vegetables, especially oranges that he graciously shared with everyone. In addition he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He spent his pastime reading. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 6170 and VFW 3700. Carroll retired as a petroleum engineer after 39 years with Texaco.
