Donald Joseph LeBlanc, 72, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at 09:57 AM.
He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn LeBlanc Thibodeaux, Joan LeBlanc Blanchard and husband Roy, and Linda LeBlanc Brien and husband Barry; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy Leon and Audrey Agnes Dupre LeBlanc; brother-in-law, Roland J. Thibodeaux; niece, Connie T. Ghirardi.
He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church where he was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Houma Civitan Club.
He was a wiz at computers. He taught many family and friends how to use and operate computers. He taught adult computer classes at several schools in Houma. He had a love for anyone he could help. He worked many years with HARC and Terrebonne Parish Recreation and kept the scores for many of the functions. He was a statistician for many years for the New Orleans Saints, Tulane football, the ABA's New Orleans Buccaneers and NBA's New Orleans Jazz. He was a 1963 graduate of St. Francis de Sales and for over three decades he kept statistics and records for St. Francis and Vandebilt Catholic High School athletics. He also served as the first Sports Information Director for Nicholls State University.
He was loved and will be sadly missed by family, friends and all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor, Chateau Terrebonne, Haydel Memorial Hospice and especially Dr. Dickie Haydel for their love and compassion.
