Donald Pellegrin, Sr.

Donald “Duck” Pellegrin, Sr., 65, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 7:30 PM. He was a native of Chauvin and resident of Schriever, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 8:00 AM until funeral time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Military Service will be held at 9:00 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy "Dot" Rhodes Pellegrin; mother, Loretta Blanchard Pellegrin; brothers, David J Pellegrin, Jr. and wife, Judy, Marty J. Pellegrin, and Eric P. Pellegrin and wife, Desi; sisters, Teena Pellegrin Theriot and husband, Jerome, and Melanie Pellegrin Voisin. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald J. Pellegrin, Jr.; father, David Joseph Pellegrin, Sr. He was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was owner of Pellegrin Bros. Auto Parts and an insurance adjuster. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He will be greatly missed.
