Gail Barnhill Picou, 61, a native of Lafayette and resident of Gray, died Sunday, March 1, 2009.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky James Picou Sr. and wife, Angel, and Roger Joseph Picou Jr.; two brothers, Wilfred Barnhill and Nathan Barnhill; one sister, Marian Barnhill; and three grandchildren, Megan Lynn Picou, Amber Nicole Picou and Ricky James Picou.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Joseph Picou Sr.; her parents, James Barnhill and Nelva Saucier Barnhill; two brothers, Michael Barnhill and James Barnhill; and one sister, Sheryl Marcel.
She was a retired insurance broker for AFLAC, State National and Woodmen of the World. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing softball.
She was Catholic.
