Hubert Joseph “Joe” Colwart Jr.

Hubert Joseph “Joe” Colwart Jr., 67, a native and resident of Houma, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Frances Bonvillain Colwart of Houma; three sons, Chris J. Colwart and wife, Angela, of Atlanta, and Mark Colwart and Todd Colwart and wife, Denise, both of Houma; two stepbrothers, Donald and Mike; three stepsisters, Linda, Andrea and Ann; and four grandchildren, Makenzie, Bryson, Madison and Kara Colwart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert J. Sr. and Juanita Authement Colwart; one son, Craig J. Colwart; one sister, Carolyn Colwart Malbrough; and his stepmother, Gloria Rhodes Colwart. He was retired inside sales for Coastal Electric for 20 years and a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
