Gladys Burton

Gladys Ruth Valure Burton, 76, a native and resident of Houma, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by three sons, James “Jimmy” Burton Jr. and wife, Bessie, of Houma, Kim Burton and wife, Donna, of Houma, and Kevin Burton and wife, Jodie, of Houma; one daughter, Kayla Burton and fiance, Reggie Aucoin, of Houma; four brothers, Anthony “T-Joe” Valure, H.P. Valure, David Valure and Ricky Valure; one sister, Catherine Pellegrin; 10 grandchildren, Allison M. Burton, Ph.D. of Houston, Beau Burton and wife, Amy, of Houma, Tyler Burton of Houma, Michael Burton and wife, Stacey, of Houma, Kyle Burton and fiancee’, Stephanie Cruise, of Houma, Brandi Burton and fiance’, Trent Darcey, of Houma, Joshua Tryba of Las Vegas, Stephanie Cangelosi of Houma, Cynthia Cangelosi of Houma and Tristyn Aucoin of Houma; three step-grandchildren, Bradley Bourg, Alex Breaux and Macy Breaux; and three great-grandchildren, Derrick Burton, Payton Darcey and Dylan Darcey. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Burton Sr.; her parents, Joseph and Ruth Dryden Valure and one sister, Dorothy Strange. She was a member of East Park Ladies Auxiliary and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
