Helen Saucier

Helen Schouest Saucier, 82, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, died at 9:59 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Frances de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by one daughter, Denise Saucier Garofalo and husband Anthony of Houma; one sister, Lorena Ciko of Slidell; and two grandchildren, Jennifer L. Garofalo and Brian J. Garofalo. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lloyd Saucier; her parents, Fred and Linda Acosta Schouest; one son, Lloyd John Saucier; and one brother, Dave Schouest. She was a housewife, and a former member of the Krewe of Terreanians, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Elks Club. She was an elections commissioner and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
