Reuben Charles Bonvillain Sr., 82, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Price Bonvillain of Houma; one son, Reuben Charles Bonvillain Jr. and wife, Kay, of Houma; two daughters, Ann Carol Bonvillain Doiron of Houma and Patricia Lynn Shineflew and husband, Richard, of Biloxi, Miss.; two brothers, Paul Manuel Bonvillain and Earnest “Mannie” Bonvillain, both of Houma; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Ellis and Mary Magdelan Pitre Bonvillain; one son, Thomas Harmon Bonvillain; five brothers, Irvin, Columbus Joseph, Donald, Wilbert and Hayes Bonvillain; two sisters, Mary Magdelan LeBouef and Dorothy May Breaux; and one son-in-law, Michael Doiron Sr.
He was a retired receiving officer of Terrebonne General Medical Center and a volunteer fireman for East Park Fire Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
