Mavis Savoie Matherne, 80, died Saturday, August 15, 2015.
She was a native of Cut Off, grew up in Houma and later resided in Bourg.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church located in Bourg, LA.
Burial: Matherne Cemetery located at 635 Bayou Blue Road, Houma, LA 70364.
She is survived by her
loving and devoted husband of 61 years, F. J. Matherne
daughters, Christine (Stephen) Cantrelle and Carrie (Billy) Randolph of Louisiana
son, Eric (Michelle) Matherne of Colorado
grandchildren, Lauren Stephenson, Leslie Price, Jessica Randolph, David Matherne, Grace Matherne
step-grandchildren, Colin Skinner, Courtney Skinner, Joshua Skinner, Corey Skinner,
Megan St. Pierre and Seth Cantrelle
eight great-grandchildren
sisters, Judy Savoie and Susan LeFort.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Luke and Enosia Gaspard Savoie.
Mavis was a member of the Purple Angels of Bayou Blue Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was retired and had worked at the Clerk of Courts Office in Houma for 22 years. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, LA
