Matthew George Carr, 38, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was a native of Saskatoon, Saskachewan, Canada and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 9:00am to service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 12:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his, Spouse: Madeline LeBlanc Carr, whom he loved very deeply and their beloved German Shepherds Thor and Rika, Father-Mother in-law: Daniel A. and Catherine Cooper LeBlanc, Brother-in-Law: Matthew LeBlanc, Sisters-in-Law: Megan Trahan and husband Bryan, Melissa LeBlanc and companion Bryan Mansell, Meredith LeBlanc and companion Corey Meyers, Niece: Rebekah LeBlanc, Nephews: Samuel Trahan, Cooper Trahan, He was preceded in death by his, Mother: Janet Marion Sullivan Corporal Matthew Carr loved his country. He joined the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1996 to 2000 as an infantry mortarman. He also served in the United States Army as a combat medic from 2000 to 2004. During his eight years of service, he had deployments to Japan, South Korea, and Afghanistan. He was awarded during his service with the United States Marine Corp, a meritorius mast (3D) service award. He was a remote paramedic and dive medical technician with Falck Alford. During his work as a paramedic he also earned a meritorius award. He loved being a paramedic and helping others. He enjoyed spending time with his German Shepherds playing catch and tug of war. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his Marine Corp family, his family and friends, and local fellow public servants. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, ATN: Voluntary Service-PTSD at P.O. Box 61011 New Orleans, LA, 70161-1011.
