Elaine A. Grabert, 61, a lifelong resident of Houma, died following a lengthy battle with cancer on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Bayou Black. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lionel J. Grabert; one daughter, Robyn M. Grabert and fiancé, Troy F. Neil; two brothers, Richard A. “Dickie” Arcement and Floyd F. “Buster” Arcement and wife, Julie, of Houma; four sisters, Janice A. Hebert of Houma, Martha A. Longman and husband, Ralph, of Franklin, Mary A. Plaisance and husband, David, of Raceland and Nancy A. Collins and husband, Freeman, of Houma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard P. and Eulah Walker Arcement; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Hebert.
She was a retired ophthalmic medical assistant, and since retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, participating in the Relay for Life and volunteering at the American Cancer Society.
