Lorenza Marie Bergeron Lecompte, 82, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Henry and husband, Larry, of Chauvin, Frances Hammons and husband, Tommy, of Pointe Aux Chenes and Sheryl Pitre and husband, Raymond, of Chauvin; one brother, Evans Bergeron of Chauvin; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Lecompte; her parents, Gustave Bergeron and Aliska Henry Bergeron; one son, Leland Lecompte; one grandson, Michael Pitre; five brothers, Radley, Stanley, Gustave Jr., Clifton and Algier Bergeron; and two sisters, Venez Robichaux and Cecile Martin.
She was a shrimp processor for Indian Ridge and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
